Welcome to AutoCMRA
Why we built a desktop app for CMRA compliance — and why Form 1583 deserved better than a clipboard.
If you run a CMRA — a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency — you know the drill. A new customer walks in, asks about a mailbox, and the next 20 minutes are yours: handing them a blank PS Form 1583, watching them fill it out wrong, correcting the business name column, squinting at a driver's license to verify it matches the home address, and then filing the paper somewhere you hope you'll remember when a postal inspector asks six months from now.
We built AutoCMRA so you'd never have to do that again.
What it actually does
AutoCMRA is a native desktop app. It walks a new customer through the entire PS Form 1583 workflow in an 8-step wizard:
- Personal info (with validation so state codes and ZIPs can't be wrong)
- Business names (add as many as the customer needs)
- PMB number assignment
- Primary identification — photo ID, with image capture
- Secondary identification — proof of address
- Signature capture, on screen
- Preview the finished form
- Generate the PDF
The output is a completed Form 1583, ready to print, with your store's operator signature and attestation already embedded.
Where the data lives
On your computer. Not in our cloud. Customer names, addresses, driver's license numbers, signature images — all of it lives in an encrypted SQLite database on your local machine, unlocked with a passphrase you pick.
If you forget the passphrase, AutoCMRA generates a 24-word BIP-39 recovery phrase when you first set up the store. Write it down, put it in your safe, sleep well.
Why a desktop app?
Because a CMRA is a physical business. Your counter doesn't go down when the internet does. A postal inspector doesn't want to hear "the site is loading" when they ask for a customer record. And your customers' identity documents shouldn't have to round-trip through somebody else's servers just so you can print a form.
Download AutoCMRA or start a free trial — it takes about a minute to install and about five minutes to onboard your first customer.
